My name is Le’aa. I am mixed race with frizzy, wavey 2C type hair with a low density, which means it is very thin, but looks like a main of hair. Growing up, I loved my hair, my mum and older sister was always doing cute styles on me. My auntie use to call me her little dolly-Doing my hair to match hers. Everyday was “hair day” I couldn’t wait to learn to do my own hair.
As a teenager, me and my sisters use to do 2 canerow’s for the neighbour’s children- that’s when “The doorstep salon” was born!
We started doing canerow styles for our friends & locals. Once my big
sister taught me how to ‘finger wave’
- THAT WAS THE GAME CHANGER!!
Moving to Basingstoke from Brixton was a big culture shock and having to adjust to the change of hair services. After many years of travelling back to south i knew it was time.
somewhere that represented me - "lil Le’aa from Brixton" - that highlighted my talents & skills, a space that reflected “The doorstep salon”, AND.. HAIR I AM!
